This bright morning captures the feeling when the spring light is pushing through the trees. It is painted in a fresh colour palette suggesting newness and hope. Painted with repeated washes and glazes of colour the delicate branches are revealed with subtle shifts in colour.
This piece was painted as part of a larger series inspired by the low level light shining through winter trees as spring birdsong was beginning to awaken the woods.
Each acrylic landscape is built up with multiple layers until the atmosphere and feeling of light are achieved. There is a looseness to the marks which suggests movement with glimpses of added details bringing touches of familiarity. Acrylic on canvas, varnished and sealed.
