A sepia photograph inspired this painting which offered so much intrigue! This smaller delightful panel is of two siblings comfortably relaxing together. I worked into the scene with several layers of painting and sanding back until I felt settled with the atmosphere.
A sepia photograph inspired this painting which offered so much intrigue! This smaller delightful panel is of two siblings comfortably relaxing together. Although this is a smaller piece I did not want it to feel overworked. There is a looseness to the marks with enough detail to describe. I worked into the scene with several layers of painting and sanding back until I felt settled with the atmosphere. Warm pinks, deep magenta, soft blue greys and more vibrant cerulean blue all layered and reworked. Acrylic on hardwood panel, varnished and sealed.
