"Open the Gate"
Open the Gate was inspired by a summer walk along the Dorset Coastal Path. I wanted to capture the anticipation of standing at a gate, looking out at the coast and feeling the delight that comes with open space and sea air.
The chalk cliffs are painted inlayers of lavender, pink, yellow, with azure blue—colours reflected from the sea and sky on a warm summer day. These colours blend with greens creating a feeling of light filled space. Framed in a brushed white wood frame and ready to hang.
