Description
This still life acrylic and mixed media painting depicts flowing colours, lines and mark-making between two beautiful vases of flowers. It is part of a series of three paintings. Your eye can dance around the piece and find wonderful places to alight before flying off to explore more. The different surfaces are unified by the soft palette of pastel colours. The painting has been sealed with a matt UV varnish.
This piece was made at the beginning of 2021 when the UK was in its third lockdown due to the pandemic. Although the colours in the piece are spring – like, outside was wintery and grey. The playfulness of the work is achieved in part by painting with the non-dominant left hand creating loose and intuitive brush strokes.

I LOVE this piece! Also it’s such a wonderful story of being ‘imperfectly perfect’, having been painted through necessity with your left hand!
