Description
This painting has now SOLD but is available as a beautiful giclee print in various sizes.
This acrylic landscape follows the line of the cliffs along a section of the Dorset coast path and is part of a small series. This view, years in the making, has slate grey cliffs under which reserves of oil are buried. Flashes of Paynes grey, blue and rusty orange lead the eye through the painting and up into the expanse of sky and breaking cloud. Lockdown in 2020 meant that rare visits to the coast path in the summer were very special. There is a looseness to the marks with layers of paint, sanding, texture and glazing to create the surface of the cliff and sea. It is beautifully framed in a deep slate grey frame with a cream coloured mount. Acrylic on hardwood panel, varnished and sealed.
